Sunday 9/18: The Awesome Difficult Work of Love

A performance by 13 Sedona-area storytellers and musicians, sharing their journeys around claiming identity and searching for community in the face of judgements, stereotypes, and prejudices.

Inspired by the work of the great African-American poet, essayist, and activist June Jordan, The Awesome Difficult Work of Love aims to give everyone, both on stage and in the audience, a moving reminder of how important it is to love oneself while striving to build trust and empathy with others in their broader community.

At 12:00 noon throughout Sedona, wherever you are – PAUSE. After 3 breaths, reflect where you may have conflict within, with another or in a situation. Make a peace vow that on International Day of Peace you will bring acceptance and understanding to yourself and others in whatever shows up in this Peace Pause.

Thursday 9/22: Dances for Peace - FREE

The greatest peace we can know is to feel alive and at home in our own body. Dance outside with people of all ages and backgrounds – inspired by two of Sedona’s favorites who enjoy dancing/movement. Feel comfortable being YOU. Move from the inside out - dissolve criticisms and self-judgement - BE FREE to move during Dances for Peace!

Friday 9/23: Photos for Peace

Hundreds of Millions of photos are taken every year Oneself by the Red Rocks. Hundreds of millions of people criticize their picture taken or in the Selfie Pose. A workshop with two professional portrait photographers is out to transform the way you perceive yourself so you can enjoy capturing your true self in the majesty of Sedona’s beauty.
